Tell me about Odessa, Ukraine?
Yes, I know Odessa is in Ukraine, but I know there are a lot of Russians there, and I'm sure it is a popular vacation spot for people from Eastern Europe and Russia.

- I've been there - a nice city. A warm sea, a lot of trees, a very interesting atmosphere - the city is based on four cultures - the Ukrainian, the Jewish, the Russian and the Armenian. The one memorable trait of the city culture is its humor - a bit cynical and paradoxical. When I've visited Odessa I realy liked it - people are very nice - friendly and warm, a bit noisy though. Plus, an architecture is not bad - the Opera theatre is really worth seeing.
- i hear they have amazing food, though. like, a friend of ours went back for the summer and ate butter by the spoonful cuz it was so good. aside from the black sea, there is a lot to see there like tolstoy's & pushkin's palaces, opera house theater, gardens, uspensky cathedral check out the attractions section at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odessa and http://co.net/travel/index.htm
- We, Ukrainians, call it OdeSa - with one "s". I really don't know what to say about it. From what I heard, the sea is quite dirty, the city is cosmopolitan in the worst meaning of this word and its inhabitants don't know who they are - they have an identity crisis. What drives me absolutely nuts is that those idiots have just erected a monument to Catherine II, one of the greatest oppressors of Ukrainians, particularly, our cossaks who were made slaves. They can now go ahead and put monuments to Stalin and Hitler beside this one. Odesa is definitely nicer than Donetsk or Kharkiv but when I go there or anywhere in Eastern or Southern Ukraine, I don't feel at home. Perhaps, giving Eastern and Southern Ukraine to Russians isn't that bad idea?
